Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg
27th February in Manchester.

2 of the top 4 fighters at their weight. For IBF and WBA (sort of, super champion Rigondeaux is in recess) titles.

Had 3 press conferences this week, gradually warming up. Plenty of needle between the 2 camps if not the actual fighters.

Plenty of England vs Ireland matches on the undercard. Should be a good fight and top night.

Got hotel reserved. Tickets on sale Friday, fingers crossed.

Who wins? Hard to look past Frampton in terms of record and pedigree, but Quigg has really come on in last 18 months.

"Last PPV that was worth it was Joshua vs Whyte as a complete package."

That was the very last PPV there was.

You moaning cunts who sat at home watching a stream you didn't pay for have nothing to complain about!

Neither McDonnell is exciting to watch.

The undercard was a bit shit really. Hoping they have a better one for the Joshua fight.

Glad I didn't bother with this.

Last PPV that was worth it was Joshua vs Whyte as a complete package.

Re: Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg
I thought it was a draw but what the fuck was Gallagher playing at? He should have been in Quigg's face telling him to start bullying Frampton. If he thought it was 2-2 after 4, he's lost the plot.

Poor fight though but not as bad as the McDonnell fight - christ that was dross.

How many of these MASSIVE pay per views fights have actually delivered.... the vast majority are absolute bore fests... Sat the point in question... Frampton afterwards actually said he was quite pleased he was boring the fuck out of everyone...

Re: Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg
I agree, quigg clearly dominated from rounds 7-11 and frampton maybe nicked the last round (5-1). the first six rounds were scrappy as fuck and at least two or three could have been called a draw as neither were doing enough to win them

Remember when Ali had his jaw broken by Ken Norton.... not some piddly 9 stone bloke he was...

Re: Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg
I feel the points system needs looking at.

Frampton did indeed 'nick' a round or two more than Quigg so technically, I agree with the decision.

However, Quiggs round wins were far more comprehensive so perhaps that should be reflected in the scoring.

Apart from the jaw-breaking one, I assume!

Re: Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg
Did Frampton actually land a punch in the first 6 rounds that he won so comprehensively?

Gallagher's comments were astonishing. What fight was he watching?

Re: Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg
I really felt like scott could have bullied him in there , roughed him up on the inside m, push him back , and work the body.

I dont know how spiteful Carls jabs were but it looked like he could have walked throiugh them , i think scott wanted to show he could outbox carl , think that was his downfall

Quigg in having surgery on a broken jaw this morning, sustained in the 4th round. Might have thrown his game plan out a bit.

Re: Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg
Crap fight, but it happens. Disastrous start by Quigq and hard to understand as it would have taken so little extra from him to have shared some of the earlier rounds at least. His corner have got to shoulder the blame for that.

The logical big money fight for Frampton would be Santa Cruz, and he'd need to up his game considerably to win that one. On what I saw last night, principally based on the fact that once he woke up Quigg was able to find Frampton without too much trouble, Santa Cruz would probably stop him.

Re: Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg
Gallagher showed really poor judgment in the corner. How he didn't give Quigg a rocket in the first six rounds was beyond me, the fight was lost before Quigg did anything of note. A turgid fight and left no appetite for a rematch what so ever. Certainty won't be paying again if it's PPV.

''Both a embarrassment to the sport''

Thought Frampton fought an intelligent fight, did just what was required and when in bother, the ref stepped in,

The true embarrassment was Quigg's trainer, Joe Gallagher, who said his man fought to orders - doing fuck all for 6 rounds, watching your man's opponent nick rounds is not a good idea you lemon.
